Description

A luxury four bedroomed traditional style country cottage set in 140 acres of park and woodland. Offering attractively presented family accommodation arranged over two floors and situated in a pleasant rural location to the edge of Gilsland village with views over surrounding countryside. This delightful cottage offers fantastic amenities for couples or family holiday. It is situated in the heart of Hadrian’s Wall country. The local attractions are endless. One minute walk from the Spa Hotel.
It is a fantastic place to stay to be able to visit the Lake District, the Scottish borders and Gretna Green. There are many interesting towns like Newcastle, Carlisle, Hexham, Haltwistle, Corbridge and Hayden Bridge. The picturesque town of Brampton is also close by with many interesting places to visit including, the famous Cumbrian Antiques Centre.
Heather Bank Cottage is situated only a few hundred yards from the Spa Country Hotel. The Spa offers excellent eating out at reasonable prices, to include a carvery Saturday evening and Sunday lunch. They have pitch and putt and croquet. There is an open bar and pool table. The village of Gilsland also has a staggering three other Pubs, which offer food and a friendly pint. You also have Megs Café.
From the secure and private back courtyard of Heather Bank there is access to a path that leads to the river, you can also walk to waterfalls and the famous popping stone.
Available are walking and cycling, a local golf course, fishing and horse riding.


The Cottage

The accommodation briefly comprises an open plan living area with opening to the kitchen, sitting room, and rear hall, WC, cloakroom and utility/laundry room. A newly added conservatory/porch that is fantastic to relax in and enjoy the fantastic views to the front of the house. Stairs lead to the first floor with four bedrooms one en-suit and family bathroom. Externally there is a garden to the front and enclosed courtyard at the rear. The Driveway has secure parking for several cars and an attached garage used as wood store. The property benefits from LPG central heating and double-glazing. Wood burner and open fire.
