The hotel is a large Victorian house tucked away in a leafy, tranquil area, but is close to main roads, tourist sites, and the cities of Leeds and Bradford. The family-run hotel offers good views, individual decor, and an informal style, not to mention comfy sofas, and interesting artworks. It is the antidote to all those identical, anonymous, corporate hotels.
The food is all prepared on the premises and has a good reputation: dinner is served Monday - Saturday evenings and Lunch only on Sundays.
The historic locks on the Leeds and Liverpool canal (after which the hotel is named) are nearby. All bedrooms are non-smoking.
