Balbirnie is a Grade A listed Georgian country mansion house, situated within a beautifully landscaped 400 acre park by the village of Markinch in the heart of Fife. The hotel is superbly located right between Edinburgh and St. Andrews, and very close to the picturesque East coast of Scotland with its many quaint fishing villages.

During your stay at Balbirnie, you will be accommodated in one of our 30 individually designed bedrooms, each quite unique in style and character. For a special stay, you may wish to enjoy one of our deluxe rooms or suites, many of which have enormous rooms with large comfortable beds and magnificent views over the gardens. Our classic rooms can provide double, twin or single occupancy, with each room differing in size, aspect and design, but all with the same amenities.

A feature of visiting Balbirnie is undoubtedly the dining experience. Balbirnie’s kitchens have an emphasis on creating classic dishes which use seasonal produce, using at every opportunity the wonderful natural larder that Scotland provides. We have a choice of two restaurants for our guests, namely James Stocks @ The Orangery and The Bistro.
