Cleavers Lyng is a grade II listed country guest house a AA reccommend 4 star property of considerable charm and charactor with a history dating back to 1577. The original part of the house was built during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I to which the oak beams and inglenook fireplace in the breakfast area bear witness. Each of our 4 double bedrooms are individually furnished to a very high standard with modern en-suite facilities . And as expected all have 22" flat screen TV with integrated DVD player, Iron and Ironing board, hospitality tray etc. The house is situated in a quiet country lane, 2 miles from Herstmonceux Village and benefits from uninterrupted views to the South Downs. In the summer months guests can enjoy the gardens, rich with colour, birds and wildlife. And all year round, the 16th century guesthouse provides a cosy haven of traditional english charm. The village has a bistro, two pubs and two restaurants, one Indian and one French. A little further afield we have very many good quality restaurant and pubs.
The house sits in just over an acre of landscaped gardens and has a large private parking area.
We are surrounded by plenty of good walks.
The entire house is strictly non-smoking. A modern smoke and heat detection system is fitted throughout.
