Set in the Peak Districts rural eastern fringes, Horsleygate Hall is secreted down a country lane in the scenic Cordwell Valley and surrounded by magnificent unusual gardens - of special interest for keen gardeners. Hens, guinea fowl and spaniel wander in the adjacent stable yard. There's a comfortable, old fashioned feel to the house with rugs and flagstones, country oak furniture and old pine fittings. The bedrooms, decorated with rich fabrics and colours are comfortable and homely with lovely views out across the gardens towards the Peak District. Downstairs is an inviting sitting room for visitors use only and a breakfast room next door where free range eggs, Derbyshire oatcakes and garden fruit are on offer. Close by are Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall, Eyan Hall and Renishaw Hall Gardens.
